Fast Drying is not always the best option to choose: If the carpet dries too quickly, evaporation will not penetrate deep enough to thoroughly clean, and the dirt will stay deep down. Improper terms-- 

Stains are permanent dye-alterations which, if fixed, must be repaired; spots are soils that resurface because of 1) excessive amounts of soil NOT extracted -- usually in the case of abused carpet and 2) excessive amounts of detergent residue that dries clear on the surface of the carpet and resoils in about 2 or 3 months in the same spot while the rest of the carpet appears cleaner.

Carpet stretching is caused by expansion when hot water is applied, but synthetic carpets (about 70-80% of the market share) are largely unaffected, especially if power stretched. Hot water actually shrinks natural carpets like wool. Buckling is only possible if the carpet has poorly installed seams or has over wetting due to technician error. Most carpets that ripple when wet return to normal when completely dry.

Drying time is largely dependent on two main ingredients: 1) Relative Outside Humidity and 2) Environment Conditioning Elements. The home must be set up to dry the carpet properly, including any or all of the following: Attic exhaust fans, open/cracked-open windows, fans, central or wall air conditioning, especially using the "continuous on" fan setting, and heating with open/cracked-open windows, and portable or "box" fans set to run in cleaned rooms.

Carpets properly cleaned can take up to 48 hours or more to dry, especially if consumer cooperation is lacking, and/or relative humidity remains high for 2 or 3 days. Some carpets, however, can dry in mere hours after full hot-water extractions, especially in the case of commercial low-pile applications. Technicians can also employ the use of high volume/ velocity air moving equipment, and greatly reduce drying times.

If low moisture extraction methods are applied, there is no feasible way for the lowest bound soils, e.g. "fine dust" to be extracted. The proof that these soils are moved lies in the fact that the evaporation process DOES bring the soil up to the surface to dry in a noticeable fashion after water extractions, water-damaged environments or water spills on the carpet. It is sensible to state that a lower moisture method of cleaning cannot extract the soil it cannot reach.

Low moisture extraction solutions can actually leave residues in the carpet that DO cause rapid resoiling. Thus the consumer has actually been lied to because they realize that the very ad they have read is not true.

Most professional certified cleaning technicians get 90% of their jobs by referral, and if you do not see them advertising, it is because they really do not need to advertise. Make no mistake about it, you really do "get what you pay for" in carpet cleaning. THINK ABOUT IT! Bear This In Mind.
